First you have to decide what Category (Advertising, Hobbies, Personal, Community etc) of website/blog you want to create. Choosing a category is the most important step because this decision will decide what your earnings will be like. Many adsense publishers build their websites on the basis of CPC of different keywords. Like, a website of Insurance will fetch you high CPC, but the number of people coming to your site will be limited. On the other hand, a website on, say, Myspace Resources will fetch you lot of visitors, but the CPC of Ads on such a site would be low.
Be wise, and choose a niche, a genre, on which you can write about, or at least have some knowledge about. You can write about your hobbies and experiences and also share expert advice if possible.
